Fall 2004 Published Papers and Speaking Engagements

TOM BRANDT spoke at the State Bar of Texas’ annual legal seminar, titled “Suing and Defending Governmental Entities.”  The seminar was held in Galveston, Texas.  Mr. Brandt spoke on the topic of “Individual Immunities.”  The paper that was presented was co-authored by TOM BRANDT, AMANDA BIGBEE and JOSHUA SKINNER.

FHM’S SCHOOL LAW TEAM recently presented papers at two roundtable discussions at the Texas Association of School Board’s annual conference in Dallas, Sept. 17-19.  Topics included “School Teacher Liability and Immunity” and “Teachers as Parents.”    FHM will also sponsored a booth at the conference.

Barry Fanning recently provided 2-hour CE program on “The Ethical Concerns of Insurance Professionals” at the Southwest Insurance Information Service’s 51^st Annual Fall Conference at the Doral Country Club in Fort Worth, Sept. 20^th.

TOM BRANDT has been invited to speak at the annual workshop for attorneys, sponsored by the Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool in Austin, Texas.  Mr. Brandt will be speaking on the topic, “Premises Liability, the Texas Tort Claims Act, the Recreational Use Statute and Governmental Entities.”  The paper to be presented was co-authored by TOM BRANDT, STEVE HENNINGER, AMANDA BIGBEE and JOSHUA SKINNER.

BARRY FANNING recently presented a 2-hour CE program at the National Association of Insurance Women’s Dallas Chapter’s annual meeting at the Royal Oaks Country Club.

JOSH KUTCHIN and ROBERT FUGATE co-authored an article, “Minimizing Diving Injury Claims,” that was published in the “Legal Eagle” section of the August 6^th issue of Pool and Spa News.
