Published Papers and Speaking Engagements

AMANDA BIGBEE’s paper, titled “The Borrowed Servant’s Doctrine:   No Person Can Serve Two Masters,” appeared in the Autumn 2003 edition of the TIIAA’s FYI newsletter.

ROBERT FUGATE’s paper on Automobile Diminished Value Claims was published in the December 2003 edition of The Texas Claims Association Citation.   Additionally, Robert co-authored an article on recent decisions from the federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. The article was published in the Winter 2004 edition of The Appellate Advocate, a publication of the State Bar of Texas.   Robert’s practice at FHM focuses on preparing and arguing civil appeals.

JOSHUA T. KUTCHIN, a frequent contributor to Pool and Spa News, had his “Code of Conduct” paper published in its Jan. 2004 issue.   Josh also contributed an article to the Inside Self Storage magazine’s legal issue, scheduled to hit news stands in March, titled “Meeting Legal Needs.”

Don Martinson, Leslie Echols Pitts and Rebecca Raper presented a “Water Intrusion and Toxic Mold Claims in Texas” program to attendees of Sterling Education Services seminar in Oct. 2003.

Mark Dyer and Amos Pettis presented “An Overview of Texas Premises Liability Law” to attendees of the Texas Claims Association annual conference in Austin, in Oct. 2003.

Barry Fanning presented a program titled “Legal Update” at the Texas Independent Insurance Adjusters Association annual meeting in Nov. 2003.     Barry also spoke on “Estate Planning” at a February dinner meeting of the Professional Women’s Insurance Association. 

FHM’s School Law team, which includes THOMAS PRANDT, STEPHEN HENNINGER, JOHN ROEHM, AMANDA BIGBEE AND JOSHUA SKINNER, recently presented a program for Texas educators titled “Special Education Law:  A Primer for Educators” as part of a series of seminars sponsored by Lorman Education Services.
